Hattiesburg Hall of Honor Criteria
Nominees for the Hattiesburg Hall of Honor must meet all criteria listed below.* Criteria for nominees to the African American Military History Museum Hall of Honor include but are not limited to the following:
- Be an African American individual who has served honorably in the United States military.
- Be a native of or a resident of Hattiesburg or the surrounding area** or who is strongly identified with Hattiesburg, who has made contributions of significant historic value to African American military history or the military overall.
- Be a person of ability and character who has exhibited the qualities of patriotism, integrity, moral and/or physical courage and/or public service.
Approval for nominees to be placed in the Hattiesburg Hall of Honor requires a majority vote of the African American Military History Museum Executive Committee.
All nominations must be received at least 30 days prior to the next Committee meeting. Candidates will become valid members of the Hattiesburg Hall of Honor immediately following a favorable majority vote of Committee members present.
